ECG won’t intensify load shedding exercise

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will not intensify the current load shedding exercise as had been announced earlier.

Officials of the company say that contrary to fears the situation may worsen, there has actually been an improvement after a planned review.

Director of Operations, Tetteh Okine explained to Joy News that following assurances from the Volta River Authority (VRA) that it is now in a position to generate enough electricity, the ECG has decided to maintain the current timetable.

He however added that areas that are due to go off on any day may actually be spared so long as the VRA keeps to its word. “We are not expecting to shed any load but in case there is the need to shed any load…”

Meanwhile Energy Dr Joe Oteng Adjei has assured Ghanaians that government is working hard to solve the current power crises facing the country.

The nation has been bedeviled with power outages in recent times incurring public angerthe anger of the public.

Speaking at a signing ceremony of a 82 million euro loan facility for GRIDco from SG-SSB, Oteng Adjei asked that Ghanaians bear with the government as they work to solve the problem.
