PSG decide to refocus

Following their elimination from the France Cup, PSG want to get their focus back on the L1, starting Sunday against Bordeaux (kick-off: 22h00 CAT).

Coach Carlo Ancelotti has just suffered his first competition defeat on the Parisian bench, when the leader of the championship was defeated by Lyon 3-1 at the Parc des Princes in the France Cup quarter final.

The goal is now clear for the men from the capital: become 2012 champions.

“There is the title to go and claim, and that’s our aim.  We will do everything to get it,” stated Parisian midfielder, Blaise Matuidi.

PSG remain undefeated in the Ligue 1 since the end of November, but got a little fright in Caen this past week when they just managed to grab the point for a draw in the dying moments of the game.

They do however still have two points on Montpellier, who fell in their away game against Nancy last weekend.

A victory however is imperative for Ancelotti’s men this Sunday at the Parc against Bordeaux, who have it as their mission to end the season in style.

“In Paris, the most important will be to remain concentrated on ourselves.  We must go there to get a result.  We’re at a stage where we need points, so we’re heading to the Parc des Princes with this as our goal,” announced the Girondins’ keeper, Abdoulaye Keita.

Lying in eighth position at ten points from the podium, Bordeaux can still hope to grab a European position.

After having picked up an injury to the heel this week during training, Yoann Gouffran will be missing from Francis Gilot’s team.
