He said in 2007 that he wanted to play a gay character as it would be a challenge of his acting skills.
And five years later, Daniel Radcliffe has gotten his wish.
And it looks as though the 22-year-old has really jumped into his latest role – quite literally.

The Harry Potter star was spotted hugging a male co-star on the set of Kill Your Darlings, which is based on the life of gay Beat generation poet Allen Ginsberg.
Radcliffe plays the main man and looked very friendly with his hunky companion.
He looked the part of a 1950s poet in a short-sleeved checked shirt tucked into beige trousers with a thin brown belt around the waist.

The pair were joined on set by Elizabeth Olsen, who looked to be trying t get Radcliffe’s attention.
She was spotted leaning out the window of a vintage car.
The blonde bombshell looked lovely in her 1940’s garb today on the set as she learned out of a cherry red car.

She wore a demure lace sweater with a printed skirt and cat-eye sunglasses.
Her bedroom slippers, however, didn’t so much say vintage as they said ‘comfortable on set.’
The film is slated for a 2013 release.
What’s so funny? The pair get acquainted
Olsen stars as Edie Parker, the first wife of fellow Beat Generation writer Jack Kerouac.
Ben Foster co-stars as William S. Burroughs will Dane DeHaan as Lucien Carr.
The movie is based on the novel ‘And the Hippos Were Boiled in Their Tanks’ by Kerouac and Burroughs.
Dexter star Michael C. Hall also appears in the thriller as teacher David Kammerer.

During his Harry Potter heyday in 2007, Radcliffe told the Daily Star: ‘I’d never play a gay character just for the sake of it.
‘But if the script was good and it was a good character, it wouldn’t
bother me. Playing characters exploring their sexuality is a challenge.’
And in an interview with gay magazine Attitude recently, he said he had a man crush on Ryan Gosling.
‘There is that moment in your late teens
when you ask yourself the question: “Am I?” but I wasn’t.
‘Well, this year I have a talent crush
on Ryan Gosling. I think he’s fantastic and, ahem, you know he’d be nice
afterwards. He seems smart. If I was gay, I would go for a smart man.’
