Borussia Dortmund’s Paraguay international striker Lucas Barrios has agreed to join Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande on a four-year contract, German daily Bild reported on Friday.

Barrios extended his contract with Dortmund to 2015 last year but is set to join Guangzhou Evergrande in a transfer worth 12 million euros ($15.9m) that will net him an annual salary of 6.7m euros, according to the same source.

“Our only reaction is not to comment on this story,” said Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc.

Barrios was Dortmund’s top scorer as they romped to the Bundesliga title last season but lost his place in the starting XI to Polish international Robert Lewandowski after injuring himself last summer.

The Argentina-born 27-year-old has scored 36 goals in 80 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund since arriving from Chilean side Colo Colo in 2009.
