Police Enquiry Bail For Owusu-Bempah

The embattled Director of Operations of FONKAR, Ernest Owusu-Bempah, could be released on police enquiry bail by close of business today, according to Citifmonline.com sources at the Police CID.

The FONKAR kingpin has been in incarceration for over 48 hours and he is being reported to have gone on hunger strike.

He is yet to be arraigned before court, but sources at the CID headquarters have hinted Citifmonline.com that he is likely to spend the weekend at home.

Owusu-Bempah has been charged for publishing false news with intent to cause fear and panic.

He alleged on an Accra-based radio station Oman FM that the First lady, Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills, enjoyed some GHC 51 million from the judgment debt paid to businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome who is standing trial over the scandal.

After his charge was announced, Mr. Owusu-Bempah went ‘missing’ as his lawyers, family members and other members of FONKAR told Citifmonline.com they cannot find him and have not seen him after Wednesday where he was invited to appear before the BNI to answer questions on allegations he made against Mrs. Mills.
