Residents of the Ho Municipality posted mixed reactions to the announcement of the replacement of Mr Joseph Amenowode as Volta Regional Minister.

There was tooting of horns as news of Mr Amenowode’s replacement by Mr Henry Ford Kamel, deputy Minister of Lands and Forestry, made the rounds on Tuesday March 6.

Journalists were inundated with calls for confirmation regarding the change, while some asked that the replacements should extend to the Municipal and District Chief Executives in the Region.

Some people told the Ghana News Agency that the change was strategic since Mr Amenowode had accomplished the purpose for which he was appointed.

Others saw the change as a strategy to prepare the National Democratic Congress for the December polls while some said the change was long over-due.

Some residents said the change did not mean much to them because Politicians seemed to be concerned with seeking opportunities for themselves, their families and friends.

In August, last year, a group calling itself as  NDC Youth for Action took to the streets demanding Mr Amenowode’s removal for perceived inaction.

The group led by one Idikoko and Alhaji Bello was confronted and crushed by the Police for not following due process.
