Hon. Kwesi Pratt and Prof. Collins to Coach IWAN video premiere

The title of this particular story could make you doubt what IWAN is bringing on board this time. But wait till you read the full story.

IWAN (the ‘Lyrical Gunshot’), popular Ghanaian Reggae superstar will be hosting ace Ghanaian politician, Kwesi Pratt (Editor of the Insight Newspaper) and Prof. E. A. Collins of the School of Performing Arts (University of Ghana, Legon) on the event of his new music video premier this Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the KAMA Conference Centre, Labone Junction, Accra.

With the programme dubbed “IWAN University”, the concept for this video premiere is to edutain (educate and entertain) the public on certain pertinent but unrecognized and persistent issues linked to corruption.

Kwesi Pratt on the event of the premiere will have a rapport with audience on the issue of CORRUPTION (the title of the music video), cum seek diverse concers of the youth as to how best they can all help in curbing the ‘generational menace’ that has engulfed African governments over the years.

Prof. E.A. Collins, however, would give an in depth lecture about the history of Ghanaian music and music as a whole and how far the journey has been (the good, the bad, and the way forward).

Apart from the two holding the forts for the event, other Ghanaian artistes like OJ Blaq, Konkarah, Edem, Stonebwoy, Ras Kuuku and others will also be passing through to support IWAN on the occasion.

With all these new feeling added to the video premiere, audience will only pay a token of GH¢5.00 as entry fee (ticket). To double the fun, IWAN himself together with KOMBOLO with be doing some LIVE duets for audience who would be present aside the premiering. On sale at the venue would be IWAN branded paraphernalia like T-Shirts, badges and IWAN CDs (GH¢5.00 per copy).

The music video was directed by IWAN himself and shot by Apstairs Visuals in various locations such as New Town, Malata Market, Dansoman, Osu Oxford Street, Akoma Village and some other locations.

The video – “CORRUPTION” – has IWAN himself featuring Kombolo (another uprising Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall-flavoured talent).

Tickets for the event will be available at the venue – KAMA Conference Centre, Labone Junction, Accra, for just GH¢5.00.
