Zesco in Sudan Tuesday
The two-match tour of Sudan by Zambia’s Zesco United began on a bad note after they fell 2-1 to Al Hilal in Omdurman Tuesday night.
However, Al Hilal rallied from 1-0 down to win after Zesco had taken a 22nd minute lead through veteran striker Winston Kalengo.
Sudan international striker Mudathir Careca El Tahir equalised in the 45th minute, before Malian defender Demba Bari handed Al Hilal the win in the 52nd minute.
And Wedson Nyirenda featured new signings defender Charles Siyingwa and midfielder Simon Silwimba, who he brought with him from Zanaco following his appointment as Zesco coach in January.
Meanwhile, Zesco will face 2011 Sudan league champions Al Merreikh in their final friendly match on Thursday evening at the same venue before returning home the next day.
