Roman Abramovich holds second meeting with Andre Villas-Boas and tells him to improve Chelsea’s results – report

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has held a second meeting with manager Andre Villas-Boas in just four days as he tries to figure out why the club have struggled this season.

According to the Daily Mail, Abramovich has told his Portuguese boss to sort out results after the Blues blew a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Manchester United, a result which left them struggling to hold on to fourth place in the Premier League.

The Blues currently trail leaders Manchester City by 14 points, a damning gap considering their pedigree as title contenders in every year since the Russian bought the club.

It is also reported that the Russian brought in director of football Michael Emenalo for talks in a further bid to explain the team’s recent failings.

Villas-Boas has been quoted as saying he does not mind the owner coming down to the training pitch, saying: “Roman is always very interested in the running of events and it was good for the team to feel his presence.

“We touched a little bit, of course, on next year’s project but mainly on Sunday’s game.

“Roman is a very educated person to the cause of Chelsea Football Club and his aura is always present.”

It is alleged that Abramovich asked Villas-Boas for his team’s tactics the day before the United match and his presence at the Cobham training pitch has been taken as a sign that the manager could be under pressure with any bid for a title challenge seemingly at an end.
