No ill feelings over S’Court judgment – Imoke

By CHARLES KUMOLU
FORMER Governor of Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke, has said he does not hold grudges against anyone over his recent sack by the Supreme Court, noting that the judgment was in the interest of Nigeria’s democracy.

He lamented that the state had gone through trauma as a result of the loss of Bakassi and some oil wells.

Imoke, who spoke at a Peoples Democratic Party rally in Calabar, commended the people of the state for their support since the judgment that ousted him as governor.

He said: “I do not hold anything against anyone. It is a democratic dispensation and everyone is free to contest, the way to the top should not be destructive. The people have spoken. It is the beauty of Cross River that makes us who we are.

“In everything, I give thanks. I give thanks for the innumerable text messages I received from you after the judgment of the Supreme Court.  I respect the judgment as it is from the highest court in the land.”
