Edo Cricket League resumes

THE Edo Cricket League resumed last weekend with the match between Integrity Force CC and No Limit CC.

IFCC won the toss and batted first, scoring 277 runs for five wickets in allotted 30 overs. National U-19 former player, Austin Alikali, who opened the batting for IFCC, was top scorer with 127 not out while captain Oviawe Ighagbon weighed in with 74 runs from 18 balls.

No Limit, in reply, scored 174 runs for five wickets in 30 overs aided largely by disciplined batting from Ehizogie Musa, who scored 94 runs. The pick of the bowling for the day was two wickets for 14 runs in six overs by Uthe Ogbimi of Integrity Force CC.

The league progresses into a busy seven-week schedule of two games per weekend to cover up the lost ground due to the nationwide industrial action and weather considerations.
