Michael Zorc: Mario Gotze will still play at Borussia Dortmund next season

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has made it clear that attacking midfielder Mario Gotze will not leave the Bundesliga champions in the near future as he has agreed to stay at BVB for at least one more season.

Gotze has developed into one of the most sought after players around in Europe in 2011, and clubs such as Arsenal, Inter, Barcelona have all been linked with a move for the Germany international.

Zorc, however, has dismissed rumours that Gotze could leave the club at the end of the current campaign.

“We have reached an agreement with Mario and he will still play at Borussia Dortmund next season,” Zorc was quoted as saying by Bild.

“He has a contract until June 2014, and we have no reason to sell him.

“I’m no prophet, though. We would have to think about it if a team makes a €1 milliard offer for him tomorrow.”

Gotze has so far scored five goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances this term.
