Midfielder Nathan Sinkala has said he hopes to emulate older brother Andrew Sinkala and play for Zambia at the 2012 Africa Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The 21-year-old Nathan has won two senior caps and has been named in a final selection of 28 players, who depart on Boxing Day for training in South Africa.

The Green Buffaloes midfielder told MTNFootball.com that he was excited to have made the squad for Johannesburg for final Africa Cup training camp.

“Yes, definitely, I would also like to go and play at the Africa Cup,” Nathan said.

“I am not feeling any pressure of people trying to compare me to my brother in midfield but I will be my own man.”

His 32-year-old brother Andrew is currently on the books of promoted Bundesliga club Augsburg and has played in three Africa Cups in 2000, 2002 and 2006.

Andrew was also part of the Zambia U20 team at the 1999 FIFA U20 World Cup in Nigeria.

“I am very excited to have made the team but will have to work very hard to make the final squad. There is a lot of competition but I am ready for the challenge,” Nathan said.

Meanwhile, Nathan revealed that he was negotiating a deal with DR Congo side TP Mazembe.

“We are still talking after they approached me a week ago,” he said.
