Valencia’s Pablo Hernandez says he is expecting a tricky encounter when they face Cadiz in the Copa del Rey first leg tonight.

The 26-year-old winger spent time on loan at Cadiz during the 2007/08 season and he is expecting a difficult game away from home.

“I spent an important season of my career there – it helped me make the jump to the top flight. I will always be grateful to the club and the city. It will not be an easy game,” he said via the club’s website.

“It’s a team that aspires to move up the leagues and have for many years been in the first and second divisions.

“The fans know it – they are going to push us hard and will be a very difficult match.”

Los Che go into this clash off the back of a 2-1 loss to Real Betis after conceding two goals in added time and will be looking to bounce back to winning ways ahead of Sunday’s La Liga game against Malaga.

“We have to try and ensure that we don’t drop important points again in games that we control for 90 minutes,” said Hernandez.

“Now we have the Copa del Rey starting and we have to be up for it, because it is a competition in which we can go far. We’ve also got the Europa League to look forward to.”
