Luanda — The Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) standardised its position with other regions of the continent, regarding the climate changes.

This was said to the press on Tuesday by the Secretary of State for Cooperation, Exalgina Gambôa, while arriving in Luanda from Durban, South Africa, where she integrated the Angolan delegation that attended UN Conference on Climate Changes.

“SADC has standardised its position with organisations of other regions of Africa, where developed countries should have a greater responsibility, regarding the reduction of gases emission and creation of green fund”, she said.

To her, this fund may be used in financing projects that will enable the development of sustainable technologies.

However, she believes that the summit will produce positive results such as the conclusion of all commitments assumed when Kyoto protocol was signed.

The country’s delegation was led by the Vice-president of Republic, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, in representation of the Angolan Head of State and chairman of SADC, José Eduardo dos Santos.

The UN Conference on Climate Change, going till 9 December, gathers about 20.000 delegates from various countries and world organisations.
