Luanda — Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes, was the winner Saturday of the “Diva of Year” Award, as she stands out as the woman individual who honoured Angolans in the world this year.
Leila did not attend the Angola Divas gala held at the Belas Conference Centre, in Luanda,
witnessed by Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, and his wife, the first lady,
Ana Paula dos Santos.
Luísa Damião and Yola Araújo won the contest in the Social Communication and Music
In the categories of Fashion, Society, Education, Sport, Health, and Duty, the award went to
Nadir Tati, Maria do Carmo do Nascimento, Cesaltina Nanduva, Odeth Tavares, Carla
Brandão and Joaquina Nascimento, respectively.
On the other hand, Angola Divas 2011 paid a homage to Angolan late musician André Mingas who passed away in October this year.
