111 Parcels Of Wee Suspects Grabbed

Two occupants of a taxi containing 111 parcels of wee, which was intercepted by the Highway Patrol Command on the Accra-Asesewa road on Saturday, have been arrested.

The suspects – Philip Tetteh, 27, the driver; and Alex Ofosu, the other occupant – were arrested at their hideout at Teshie in Accra, on October 2.

Information gathered by The Finder indicated that the suspects, who were sent by one accomplice (name withheld), bought the substance at GH¢17.5 million from a village called Aboa, where Philip hails from.

The unidentified accomplice, who is on the run, went to Aboa with Philip and Alex, but left for Accra; leaving his companions to transport the substance to Accra.

A source told The Finder that the owner of the taxi had earlier reported to the Teshie Police that Philip had not returned his taxi as expected.

The suspects are currently in police custody assisting the police in investigations.

It will be recalled that The Finder on Tuesday, October 2, carried on story on the interception of 111 parcels of wee by the police.

The driver and an occupant of the taxi abandoned the taxi and run away before the police got to the spot.

The 111 compressed parcels of dry leaves were concealed under the seats, speaker boxes and boot, and covered with yam, plantain and cassava.
