Black Stars boss, James Kwesi Appiah has expressed massive dose of confidence in his countrymen to give the national team all the necessary support during the World Cup even as they play far away from home.

Dr. Kwesi Appiah has credited Ghanaians for the source of inspiration that propelled the Black Stars to success during the qualifying rounds but is charging his compatriots not to relent with more spiritual support when the global football festival kicks off in Brazil next month.

‘Ghanaians deserve all the praise for their love and support which helped the team to qualify,’ Coach Appiah told Allsports.com.gh exclusively at the Kotoka International Airport just before the Black Stars flew out of Accra to Holland on Saturday night.

‘But it’s now that we are going for the real battle. We appreciate their support, we thank them very much and I believe they will also support us with their prayers,’ Coach Appiah said.

Dr. ‘Silent Killer’ refused to comment any further as he walked through immigration procedures and unto the tarmac unto the KLM flight to Amsterdam where his team’s second phase of preparations begin on Sunday ahead of a friendly against the Dutch national team on Saturday.

Ghana will face USA, Germany and Portugal in Group G in Brazil but will round of preparations for the World Cup with a friendly against South Korea in Miami, Florida on June 9.

After the game against the Asian hotshots, the Black Stars are expected to depart the USA on June 10 and arrive in their World Cup base the following day ahead of their 2014 FIFA World Cup group opener against Jurgen Klinsmann’s side on June 16.
